David Spalding and Donald McLaws founded Eau Claire Hardware in Calgary in 1952. With a name change to Spalding Hardware and the acquisition of an Edmonton company (F.J. McIntyre), we began to service the Province of Alberta with general hardware sales and service.

Ken Cornfield and Neil Sandberg joined the company in the early years with Ken developing the Architectural Hardware Division and Neil supporting the General Hardware Division. Ken and Neil purchased the company in the 1980's and continued to build the business from a strong foundation of quality and service.

We owe much of our long-standing reputation for quality and service to these individuals and our many dedicated employees over the past 50 years.
